Facility Design Group's Justice Division is one of the nation's leaders in providing comprehensive programming, planning, design, engineering, and program management services to municipal, county, and state public safety agencies using our Design/Build approach. Our in-house resources include planners, architects, engineers, and construction specialists who work solely on government projects, including: detention centers, court facilities, and public safety complexes.

Facility Design Group's government professionals have completed criminal justice projects ranging from rural to urban facilities; minimum to maximum-security facilities; and low-, mid-, and high-rise facilities. In addition, we have built police, fire, court, 911 and other public safety facilities throughout the southeast. Our planners specialize in performing criminal justice needs assessments and facility master plans. These services include detailed feasibility studies, facility analysis, operational analysis, inmate population projections, space programming, staffing analysis, site evaluations, facility expansion options, construction methods, cost estimates, project schedules, and, transition services.

Paulding County Courthouse and Administration Building

Dallas, GA

Project Description:

• Two new buildings on a new greenfield site
• 160,000 SF courthouse and
• 3-story 100,000 SF county administration building
• $64.7 million complex includes 10 courtrooms, administrative and programming space, and 70-person holding area

College Park Public Safety Facility

College Park, GA

Project Description:

• New 60,000 SF public safety facility housing the city's police and fire departments and municipal court
• Police Department area includes large evidence storage area, S.W.A.T. Operations, E-911 Call Center, a 16-bed jail, and four-station indoor firing range
• Fire Department area includes workspace, eating and sleeping areas, and three large apparatus bays to accommodate the City's fire response vehicles
• Municipal area provides courtroom and support space accommodate seating for up to 200 persons

Fulton County Juvenile Justice Center (Judge Romae T. Powell)

Atlanta, GA

Services Provided:

• Design/Build — planning, design, and Construction Management Services

Project Description:

• 5-story, 187,500 SF facility contains eight courtrooms, administrative and programming space, and a 25-bed holding area
• Also includes 7,500 SF of space for the new Mechanicsville Branch Library
• The $33 million facility consolidates all of the juvenile court's functions from eight separate facilities into one central location

Kankakee County Jail

Project Description:

• Two phase project
• Phase I added 300 beds with 800 maximum capacity
• Phase II added 144 new beds
• $19.5 million 20-acre jail complex includes 100,000 inmate facility which confines both pre-trial and sentenced inmates
